I’ve mentioned before that I struggle with my sometimes impossible thick, wavy hair (you would think that with my ridiculous hair my babies would have a lot of hair, too…but no). More days than not, my thick mop of hair ends up in a pony tail or messy bun before I’ve even finished my morning coffee and it’s just a reality I’ve come to accept. But I’ve been making a little bit more of an effort with my hair this year, and my current routine is working pretty well for me. I only wash my hair every 3 – 4 days to keep it from drying out too much. On Day 1 I dry my hair straight and can usually get two days out of this – even with a decent workout, I can generally spritz my roots and blow them dry and get a second day out of my straight hair. On Day 3, I pull the top of my hair back, and on Day 4 – it’s a ponytail. But just because I throw my hair back in a ponytail doesn’t mean it can’t be a cute ponytail, right?
I love this video from Oil of Olay on creating a sexy ponytail. A little texture gives a ponytail a lot more interest than, to quote the Oil of Olay stylist, “A Cheerleader ponytail” which I’m frequently guilty of sporting. Do you have a hair “routine”, or do you like to try new things with your hair all the time?
