I just finished the Hunger Games Trilogy and loved all three. I read Maine by J. Courtney Sullivan and didn’t like it. I loved Bossypants by Tina Fey. I’m in the middle of reading the Paris Wife by Paula McLain and I really like it so far.
I’m sorry you didn’t like “The Last Time I Saw You”! I really liked that one, but I also know what you mean about not meshing with the characters.
The last book I read was “The Night Circus”. It took me a few chapters to get into, but once I did, I really liked it.
As I was reading through this, I was going to say you should read the Hunger Games. But then I saw that LKF had already suggested that. So 2 votes for that one. I read all three in 2 weeks, which is unheard of for me. Thr first one just draws you in.
I just finished “The Arrivals” by Meg Mitchell Moore. It was a good read. And I also caved and started watching Downton Abbey. I have two more episodes in the first season and I am really liking it more and more. I do think you should go by Lord and Lady!
I really liked the Night circus, too. I’m reading the third in the Uglies series, but having a hard time getting into it. I’ll get there. I’m also working through Ellie Krieger’s Small Changes… book, and up next is a biography of EB White.
My last book was Common Sense by Thomas Paine. Before that was Fairy Tales Every Child Should Know and the last actual novel I read was the end of the Hunger Games trilogy.
March sounds interesting.
I just finished Commencement by J. Courtney Sullivan and I actually liked it. I thought I was going to just put up with it once I started it thinking it was too young for me but it ended up differently than I thought. I want to read Maine too, I think it’s about Irish Catholic sisters. I’m also in the middle of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. I;m eh about it. I want something really good to read though, I just havent come across anything in awhile. Hunger Games, while sort of entertaining, just don’t count.
Re: Elizabeth Berg. I think all of her books revolve around older women and for some reason I still love them although I can’t relate. SO I’ll probably read that one too.
Just finished some memoria of growing up Mennonite. It was ok. My mom passed it off to me, so it’s biggest attraction was that it was sitting on my nightstand.
