September Goals

I did a really good job at my August goal of savoring the month home with Tommy.  I’m not going to stretch myself too far in September.

1) Run routinely.  Getting back into running has felt really good, but I can’t help that think part of my motivation is a day that has endless possibilities for getting a run in.  So with my return to working 8 hours a day, I’m planning to hit the pavement at least 3 days a week.

2) Go to a pumpkin patch.  Grocery store pumpkins are so last year.

3) No TV or Computer during Tommy’s awake time – I figure I’ll be gone from his life enough as it is, that when we’re all at home together we should focus on each other.  This is going to be harder than it should be.

Mostly this month is going to be about Tommy’s surgery and recovery, Mr. B switching jobs and getting back into the swing of school, my return to work and Tommy’s start at daycare.  Oh, hello September!  I foresee a night of my go-to stress food of Shells and Cheese with hotdogs in my not to distant future.

  1. Busy busy month – good luck.

  2. i like your goal of no tv/computer when it’s family time. 🙂

and best of luck with his surgery. you know we will all be sending good thoughts your way

  3. I like your last goal–and you are right that it is harder than it should be!

  4. Ooh, a pumpkin patch sounds like a great idea. Any recommendations for a good one?

  5. Good luck with his surgery and what a wonderful idea of having a tech free baby awake time!!

  6. Good Goals! You’re so grounded. 🙂
I’ll be praying for an easy surgery and a fast recovery time.

  7. These are excellent goals. I am especially enamored with the no computer/tv during baby awake time. I have a netbook and it is the devil. I goes with me everywhere. Sad, but true. I’m an internet junkie.

I’ll be praying for Tommy’s surgery in Mass this Sunday! I hope all goes well!

  8. Good luck with your little guys surgery!! Warm and fuzzy thoughts headed your way! Thanks so much for your post on our dining room, it made me smile 🙂

  9. These sound like great goals to me! Best of luck! I don’t know why I did not know Tommy had surgery coming up (unless you haven’t posted about it), but I’ll be thinking and praying for you guys!

    P.S I love shells and cheese! 🙂

  10. I hope you have a great month, Emily!

  11. I love goal number 3. You inspired me. I started when I got home from work tonight. It was actually really rewarding and very peaceful. I think it won’t be bad on the weeknights. The weekends will be another story…

  12. Surgery? I definitely hope everything goes well!! Sending you good thoughts for sure!! 🙂 I have a very similar goal for running…. so far, so good. It’s only the 2nd, but still, I’ll take it!! 🙂

  13. Busy month! Hope it goes well. Does Mr.B’s new job means he leaves earlier?
