Baked Maple Salmon

We’re big on our Omega 3’s over here.  I generally take them in capsule form, but when Mr. B does the grocery shopping he buys fish.  We all know I’m not the most adept at the grocery store, we’re lucky if I get out of there without spending the entire monthly budget on chocolate chips, so when Mr. B goes shopping the weekly menu is a little more diverse.

We usually grill salmon with a little citrus and rosemary.  But I wanted something different.  Enter Baked Maple Salmon.  Sweet.  Tasty.  Delicious.  Doesn’t require Mr. B to be home because I have no clue how to start the grill.  Win. Win. Win. Win.

I know,  I should really quit my day job and become a professional food plater.  For crying out loud woman, could we get a little color on this plate?  A green leafy vegetable of some kind?

You’ll need:
1 pound salmon
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 T soy sauce
1 clove garlic minced
1/4 t garlic salt
1/8 t ground black pepper

Mix your syrup, soy, garlic, garlic salt and black pepper together.  Put the chunk of salmon on a piece of foil and pour your sauce on top.  Fold the foil together and marinate in the refrigerator for up to 30 minutes.  Then just toss your foil in a glass baking pan and cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, fold back the foil and broil on high for 5 minutes.  Fan-freaking-tastic.

  1. Looks delicious. I’ll happy you shared the recipe for us.

  2. Sounds delish! Yeah, throw a hunk of parsley or some cherry tomotoes on that plate would ya? LOL.

Sorry, I am not all about food presentation for just us. 🙂

  3. I have a recipe somewhat similar to this and it has become my kids favorite/only way to eat salmon!

  4. I. Need. This.
I too could spend our entire monthly food budget on chocolate chips. This explains why I haven’t been real grocery shopping in about 5 months. Soon I will have blissfully forgotten where everything is in the grocery store. 🙂

  5. i have used this recipe before! i found it at our grocery store’s seafood counter. it works well on the grill too, especially if you let the salmon soak in the maple for a bit!

  6. It’s so funny that you make fun of your plating abilities in that photo because I was totally just sitting there looking at it thinking how absolutely delicious it looks. Of course I haven’t had breakfast yet…

  7. Yum. I definitely have to try this!! Thanks for sharing the recipe… and that pic makes me hungry!! 🙂

  8. Thanks for sharing. Maybe this will be the recipe that changes my husband’s mind about eating fish! Hopefully!!!

  9. mmm it has maple syrup, salmon, AND garlic? I am sold!

  10. I’m making this tonight! I may try it on the grill.

  11. This looks so good. We never eat fish because Ryan doesn’t like it. But, I think maybe he should learn to eat some fish for his wife. You know, compromise. 😉

  12. We are always looking for new salmon recipes…this one is going on the list! Sounds delicious!
